Direct to Submission Form
The Writing Center invites writers to submit drafts online for response.
Online writing assistants are prepared to consult on a wide range
of writing tasks-- from resumes and application letters to essays
and research projects.
Our Method
Writing assistants do not proofread or revise papers. Instead, we
respond to each draft as a whole rather than line by line. Attention
is given first to thesis and organization and then to grammar.
Response Time
We can generally respond within 48 hours, although holidays and peak demand may mean a longer turn around. Unfortunately, we cannot respond to papers received after dead week or during school breaks. The Writing Center welcomes drafts from writers outside of Western, but student drafts will be given priority over all external submissions. All Western drafts will be responded to in the order in which they are received.
Submission Guidelines
Online consultations work best with papers shorter than six pages.
For longer works, we recommend face-to-face conferences in the Writing
Center. To protect ourselves from virus infection, we will respond
only to drafts submitted via the Web form and will not open or read
drafts submitted as attachments unless by prior agreement. If you
are experiencing difficulties submitting your draft via the Web form,
please contact the online writing assistants at Writing.Center@wwu.edu.
