RENEWABLE ENERGY FEE:
A student initiated fee to be used for the sole purpose of purchasing renewable energy. The fee will be charged on a per credit hour basis up to a maximum of 10 credit hours per quarter. The Renewable Energy Fee will be assessed at $.70/credit hour, to a maximum of $7.00 per quarter. The renewable energy purchased from this fee will be used to substantially reduce or eliminate the University's use of electricity generated by traditional sources.
RECREATION FEE:
An $94/quarter membership fee assessed to all undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in six or more credits.
ENROLLMENT FEE:
A $250 fee is charged to all newly matriculated students (not including extension or graduate students) upon registration for their first quarter or attendance. The student cost to attend Orientation Advising Programs is covered by the enrollment fee paid when accepting the offer of admission. This fee includes all advising, orientation, registration, program materials and lunch. This fee is non-refundable.
HEALTH SERVICES FEE:
A $63 fee is charged per quarter to each student who registers for six or more credits on the Bellingham campus. The fee is used to establish a standard of health care for Bellingham's campus and as a contingency for emergency services. This fee is non-refundable after the sixth day of the quarter.
STUDENT BUILDING FEE:
A $35 fee is charged per quarter to each student who registers for six or more credits on the Bellingham campus. The fee is used for the improvement and development of the Viking Union on the Bellingham campus.This fee is non-refundable after the sixth day of the quarter.
TECHNOLOGY FEE:
A $17 fee is charged per quarter to each student who registers for six or more credits on the Bellingham campus. The fee is used to upgrade and expand technology equipment, facilities, and software on the Bellingham campus. This fee is non-refundable after the sixth day of the quarter.
TRANSPORATION FEE:
A $25 fee is charged per quarter to each student who registers for six or more credits on the Bellingham campus. The fee is used to provide students with a Whatcom Transportation Authority bus pass and late night shuttle service. This fee is non-refundable after the sixth day of the quarter.
EXTENDED STUDENT SERVICES FEE:
A $6 per credit fee is charged to self-support extension and SPAN courses. The fee is used to purchase equipment, interpreters, and resources for students with certified learning needs, and to fund the development of distance education activities for self-support courses.

STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE:
Emergency coverage is available for students enrolled for six or more credits. A more comprehensive coverage, the Basic Health Plan, subsidized by the Washington State Health Care Authority, is also available to all students. Contact Student Health Center for details.
LATE ADD FEE:
A fee of $10 per credit is charged if a student registers after the fifth day of instruction in a quarter.
LATE PAYMENT FEE:
A quarterly $75 late payment fee is applied for charges not paid by the deadline (reference Timetable of Classes for deadlines). A 1% interest charge will be assessed monthly on all past due accounts. The current amount due to the University on your online billing statement may be adjusted due to activity on your account after the billing date. Requests should be submitted to the Registrar's Office one week in advance of need. Official copies $9.00 (unofficial faxed copies $15.00). A transcript will not be issued for persons who are indebtyed to the University.
OTHER SPECIAL FEES:
In certain instances, the University may charge special fees for services which normal budgets may not fund, such as music practice room rentals, purchase or special laboratory and studio supplies. These fees are listed in the online WWU Class Finder.
