Adobe After Effects is a tool for creating special effects for movie projects. After attending this workshop, you will be able to use it to enhance the appeal of your video projects through keying, motion tracking and other processes. Because of After Effects' advanced role in the video production process, it is highly recommended that you have experience in a video editing program such as Premiere Pro or an animation program such as Flash before attending the workshop.
This 90 minute workshop introduces Dreamweaver as a web development tool. The student will learn an intermediate level of web development, including how to define a site, formatting with Cascading Style Sheets, and creating rollovers, layers and tables. This class is designed for those whith little to no prior web experience. Prior knowledge of Dreamweaver is not required.
Learn how to use Macromedia Fireworks to create web-based graphics. In this workshop, the student will learn how to import and edit Photoshop and other bitmap documents, create and add graphics and text, create hotspots and rollovers, and coordinate files with Dreamweaver.

You will be able to evaluate the pros and cons of using a database vs a spreadsheet for specific tasks. You will be able to enter data, run and modify queries, and create simple forms and reports. No prior database or Access experience is required.
This 90 minute course will prepare you to use Excel 2007 as well as introduce you to the interface changes in Excel 2007 and how they differ form previous versions of Excel. In this class you will learn that Microsoft Excel is a wonderful tool that can be used for calculations, data analysis and to create and manage large data lists. The data compiled into Excel can be expressed graphically through graphs and tables embedded in your Excel worksheet or copied into other documents. In this class you will learn the fundamentals of working with a spreadsheet, learn to create simple formulas and utilize functions, filter and arrange sets of data and create charts and graphics using your data. A basic familiarity with Excel 2007 is helpful but not required.

In this class you will learn how PowerPoint can be used to create on-screen presentations that can include text, graphics, audio files, video clips as well as animations applied to text or graphic elements and transitions between slides. In addition, the class will cover the fundamental interface differences between PowerPoint 2007 and previous versions of PowerPoint. A basic familiarity with PowerPoint 2003 is recommended.

You will learn to create a document, format text and margins, insert headers and footers, create tables and insert graphics and clip art. No prior Word experience is required
In this 90-minute hands-on workshop, you will explore formatting and features most needed for scholarly and academic documents. You willcreate headers and footers that change in each section of the document; insert footnotes; convert footnotes to endnotes; insert and label graphics, tables and figures; use styles for consistent formatting, and create an automated table of contents. You will also use indents, paragraph spacing options, and explore opotions for numbered lists. A solid foundation in working with Word as a document editor is advised for maximum benefit.
Many students and faculty work with Word everyday without understanding some of the basics of this important software tool. In this 90 minute hands-on workshop, you will be introduced to the essential elements of Microsoft Word. Upon completion, you will be able to insert, delete, select, move and copy text; apply and change formats; control page breaks and use tables to organize information. You will be able to create a header and footer to repeat information on each page automatically. You will insert a photo, change margins and explore print options. Keyboard shortcuts and right-mouse shortcut menus will be included. No prior Word experience is required, though some experience will provide the most beneficial learning experience.
SPSS is a statistical and data analysis software. This 80 minute hands-on workshop will use the SPSS online tutorial to introduce basic SPSS functions. Topics covered include opening, importing and creating datasets, viewing and changing the properties of variables, generating descriptive statistics (mean, median, standard deviation) and charts.
No prior experience with SPSS is expected. Experience or need to generate statistics is most conducive to a beneficial learning experience.
