Membership Summary:

1. Fifteen faculty members who serve for two-year terms.

2. Terms of service will be staggered to provide continuity.

3. As with Faculty Senate committee memberships, appointments are renewable up to a total of 6 consecutive years.

4. Members of the Academic Advising Center staff will serve on the Committee as needed.

NOTE: 5 members will be chosen in spr 2010 to serve thru 2012. 5 new members will be chosen for 3-year terms to end in 2013 (to bring membership to 15). Current members will be eligible for reappointment unless they have already served for 6 or more years.

Charge:

1. The Scholastic Standing Committee reviews petitions for reinstatement from students who have been dismissed in accord with the University's scholarship standards. Responsibility for determining reinstatement to the University rests with the Committee.

2. The Academic Advising Center will coordinate and support the work of the Committee by calling meetings (Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer quarters), preparing the student files for review, and informing students and relevant offices of the Committee's decisions.
