Charge:

Charge: The Admissions Committee shall make policy in matters of admissions and intercollege relations. The Admissions Committee:

  1. Establishes the standards and regulations for admission of undergraduate applicants to Western Washington University.
  2. Recommends policy for admission with credit or advance standing.
  3. Coordinates and supervises the admissions policies of the colleges of Western Washington University.
  4. Coordinates the activities of the various colleges, departments, and agencies of Western Washington University in the area of school/college relations as they relate to college admissions policy.
  5. Advises the Director of Admissions on the implementation of the admissions policy of Western Washington University.
  6. Forms a subcommittee to resolve cases of students seeking exception to the existing admissions policy. The review committee shall consist of the Director of Admissions and two other Admissions Committee members (at least one of whom shall be from the faculty), appointed by the Director on a rotating basis.

Membership: The Admissions Committee shall consist of 12 members: six faculty, appointed by ACC; two students appointed by the Associated Students Board; and 4 administrators (Director of Admissions, Associate Director of Admissions, Registrar, and Vice President for Student Affairs), said administrators to hold ex officio, non-voting status.

Chair: The Chairperson of the Admissions Committee shall be elected by the Committee from its membership at the first meeting of each Fall Quarter.

Reportage: The Admissions Committee reports to the Academic Coordinating Commission. The Committee meets at least once a quarter. Minutes of each committee meeting shall be forwarded within 30 days to the Academic Coordinating Commission for review.

Support: The Office of Admissions shall provide all needed clerical support to the Committee.
