Membership Summary:
Membership includes 10 Faculty:
2 from the of College Humanities and Social Sciences; 2 from the College of Sciences and Technology; 2 from the College of Fine and Performing Arts; 3 faculty from Woodring: 1 each representing Elementary Ed, Secondary Ed and Special Education; 1 Woodring representative to ACC.
Total Membership of 17 also includes:
1 Public school representative;
1 Teacher Certification Officer;
1 Director of Office of Field Experience;
the Woodring Associate Dean; and the Dean of Woodring, ex-officio;
2 undergraduate or post-baccalaureate students, 1 graduate student . Students must be enrolled in a teacher educatIon program.
Term: Appointments for faculty members shall be for two-year terms. Members may be reappointed for one additional two-year term. When two consecutive terms have been served, a faculty member must remain off a committee for one year, and can then become eligible for appointment.
Chair: As designated by the Dean of Woodring College of Education, the Associate Dean shall chair the TCCC. The Chair will be an ex officio member, non-voting, except in cases of tie votes. The Office of the Dean, Woodring College of Education, shall provide all needed clerical support to the TCCC.


Charge:

The Teacher Curriculum and Certification Council (TCCC) shall have jurisdiction over teacher education curricula, teacher certification programs, and professional preparation programs proposed by certification consortia in which the university participates.
TCCC shall:
** provide interaction among the units of WWU engaged in teacher preparation;
** take actions to improve relations with agencies outside WWU, which relate to teacher preparation and certification.
Curricular changes being considered which might affect courses or programs offered by another academic unit of WWU must be forwarded to those units for review at least two weeks prior to final action. Failure to do so will void the action.
