Membership Summary: We ask council members to reserve every Tuesday on their calendars generally Noon Time throughout the quarter, although we do not necessarily meet every Tuesday in the quarter. The frequency of meetings depends on agenda items. For example, during spring quarter, council hears reports from graduate program review sub-committees. Since we review 5 programs annually, we may only meet 5 times during spring quarter.
We anticipate the first meeting fall quarter to be a Tuesday early in October. We do not meet during finals week. If you have other questions please contact Kirsti Charlton, the Graduate office, or the Senate office.
The Graduate Council shall consist of fifteen members: one graduate faculty member chosen by the Dean of each college which has a graduate program (6);
Three graduate students appointed by the AS Board (3) ; the Dean of the Graduate School, who shall serve as chairperson, ex officio, non-voting;
The remaining graduate faculty members (6) to be chosen by the ACC (These members are tenure or tenure track faculty). The six members chosen by ACC are chosen through election in the Spring quarter and their appointments are subject to the ACC term limits.
Chair: The Dean of the Graduate School shall be Chairperson of the Graduate Council.
Support: The Graduate Office shall provide all needed clerical support to the Committee.
