Accepted. Policy Proposal. Commissioners approved a policy change that “transfer students with GPA’s below 2.0 after their first quarter at WWU are placed on academic warning instead of probation” (To concur with present policy for freshmen). Change unanimously proposed and approved by Scholastic Standing Committee and Admissions Committee. Approval of ACC minutes implies approval of the policy change.

College of Fine and Performing Arts |
11/12/08 |
Accepted with the exception of the following: THTR 360, 361, 364, 460, 461, 464. These courses may already meet the credit hour requirements but Commissioners need to see HOW they meet the credit hour requirements. Please show description of the credit hours as part of the rationale. See p. 36 of the catalog. Also: Bachelor of Music language in right-hand column difficult to follow. Please provide a FINAL copy.

College of Humanities and Social Sciences |
11/6/08 |
Accepted. Catalog coordinator presented a summary of the graduate track and the undergraduate degree track for B.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders; please review titles so as not to confuse students with the use of the term “graduate”. The Graduate Program track is separate from the Degree Program track. Creative Writing track has minor edits (p. 14): Fair354 is Fair354v; THTR 499 is struck, and Fair 454 is Fair454Y.

College of Humanities and Social Sciences |
11/13/08 |
Accepted. Commissioners recognized that there is no place on the New Course E-Form for a statement about an increase in credit hours. ACC Exec is reviewing course forms as part of updating the ACC Handbook, and perhaps this detail can be addressed in the course rationale. BA in Sociology; BS in Sociology: Minor – Sociology – Population Studies: Delete SOC 385 – course no longer offered; ended 200730. BA in Sociology: 310 is a WP3 course – so delete sentence in parentheses stating that one course must be WP. Teacher Education courses will come back through TCCC. |

Accepted. Recommendation from the GUR committee that course syllabus specify which GUR competency is met by the course. Faculty are aware of the mission of the discipline and the mission of the department, but frequently are unaware of the overall mission in achieving the GUR competencies.
