ACC Charge
Chair Hearne conducted a kind of straw vote of the membership to assess their views on the ACC charge as it was revised and presented to the Faculty Senate for discussion at the Senate meeting of April 21st
The Senate will review the charge again at its May 5 meeting.
The Commissioners raised objections to references to significant budgetary implications and would like to delete the following: BL.7.4 The phrase “excluding those that have significant budgetary implications”
Commissioners objected to the sentence “ACC discussions to amend or create academic policies must be widely” Through the end of the underlined text.
Commissioners would be willing to accept the addition of the “agendas” in the first sentence to read: “ACC publishes its policies and agendas on the Faculty Senate website and in the ACC handbook.”
BL.7.4.1 Commissioners object to: All of the underlined text in BL.7.4.1..
Commissioners offered a preference for the statement as it exists in the current Faculty Senate Handbook: “Faculty members are appointed Spring Quarter and are seated at the last ACC meeting of Spring Quarter”.
Commissioners and the Chair object to “The chair is responsible for communicating decisions”, etc., through the end of that underlined text.

ACC Curriculum Routing Chart – Graphic Version
Commissioners made suggestions for improving a chart that illustrates the routing of curriculum to ACC. Provost Murphy remarked that he is attempting to ensure that curriculum within specialized programs is attached to a college and processes through a college curriculum committee.
Constituent Concern – Plagiarism Detection Tool. Commissioners would like greater dissemination of information to the faculty about the implications of using a "plagiarism detection tool" which may be made available and suggested further discussion of what is involved before implementation. One Commissioner reported serious concerns among the faculty in her department about intellectual property and other issues.
Adjournment
Commissioners adjourned at 5:00 pm.
