North Sound Planning Compendium and Database
This database is a bibliographic source of planning documents, resources,
reports, and published materials relevant to North Puget Sound regional
transportation issues. It was compiled as part of the project funded by a USDOT-Federal
Transit Administration grant described at our website:
www.acadweb.wwu.edu/nsccp
It gathers together a range of useful information from North Sound local and
Washington State jurisdictional planning documents, to a variety of articles,
some of which might be missed in a standard literature search. Most of the
selections are about planning and public transportation issues. It was compiled
in 2004-2005 by Western Washington University, Huxley College of the Environment
graduate research assistants Cari McMullin and Jill Leonetti. The M.S. Access
database format was created by Steve Rybolt and Cari McMullin. The research
assistants worked under the direction of Preston L. Schiller
It can be searched by Title, Author, and Category (Ferry, Transit, Rail, Policy,
Planning and Other). In some cases the “Author” is a public agency or other
corporate body. A sample entry page is included below. For each entry a location
where the document is available is identified. Some of the locations are only on
the websites identified. Others are available through libraries or
planning agencies. A few are available as hard copies in our files at Huxley
College of the Environment.
