Irene K. Wysocki

Hatha Yoga & Restorative & Meditative Yoga Instructor

Irene has a BA in Business Management and Psychology. During her professional career in Public Health she worked with AIDS service organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her personal yoga practice helped relieve stress and contributed needed discipline to her life. In 2005, a move and career change offered her the opportunity to train and become certified at the Life Mastery Yoga Program in Oklahoma City. After completing the program in 2006, she registered with Yoga Alliance as a Professional Yoga Instructor, and has remained a member since.  Irene also has 2 special certifications: American Council on Exercise-Multiple Sclerosis for Fitness & Wellness, and the Arthritis Foundation-Walk with Ease Program Certification.

Irene’s passion is teaching yoga with an emphasis on proper body alignment for maximum effectiveness. Her approach to yoga was originally proven during her first professional teaching engagement at Northern Oklahoma College, where she served as adjunct faculty in the Health & Physical Education Program. Irene moved to Bellingham in 2007 and began her local practice at the YMCA, teaching the popular class “Yoga from the Inside Out.” Her goal is to help students use the body’s natural energy to provide strength and flexibility to enhance daily living.

For the WWU Wellness Program Irene teaches Campus Hatha Yoga on TR 12-1 in Carver Gym D & Restorative & Meditative Yoga on MF 12-1.
