Rebecca (Becky) Schindler
Whole Body Fitness Instructor

Rebecca Schindler began teaching group fitness for a small
Bellingham studio in 1983 and went on to complete a M.Ed. in
Exercise science in 1990. After owning and operating her own
fitness and health education consulting business for several years
she became operations manager for the downtown Bellingham Athletic
Club. She also taught at the Whatcom Family YMCA for 10 years
and was their first Personal Trainer.
In 1996 she began working for Western and started the noon
fitness class through Campus Recreation in spring of 1999.
Since June of 2001, Rebecca has been the Department Manager and
adjunct faculty member for the Physical Education, Health and
Recreation department. She has maintained ACE (American
Council on Exercise) Group Fitness Certification since 1984 and has
numerous specialty certifications (Advanced Stability Ball, Cardio
Kickboxing, Step, IDEA Personal Training). She continues to
teach and personal train, and is especially dedicated to fostering
the continuing development of a permanent Faculty/Staff Wellness
Program here at WWU.
For the WWU Wellness Program Becky subs in when needed for the
Whole Body Fitness.
