Who is eligible to take classes through Training & Development?

If you are paid directly by Western Washington University, you are eligible to take classes.

How do I get information about classes?

For the most current class information, visit this website ("What's New" page) and the WWU Training website often.

To support the staff and faculty of WWU, we schedule classes quarterly and on an as-needed basis.  This allows the scheduling of those classes that are in demand.

Classes in demand are based on individual class requests submitted to the class request database.  When there are a sufficient number (normally a minimum of 7 participants) of requests for a particular course, a class will be scheduled and added to the training schedule.

In addition, classes are published weekly in the FAST.

When a class is listed for multiple days, do I have to attend them all? Can I choose one date? Can I miss several days?

You are expected to attend all classes. Training & Development classes are in-depth, and it is to your advantage to attend each session. Upon satisfactory completion, the class is added to your non-academic training transcript.

If there is a class fee, how do I pay?

You may pay by personal check, cash or by a funds transfer. When you register for a class and select fund transfer you will be presented with an e-sign form to complete.  By obtaining an authorized signature on your registration form we can transfer funds from your department to Training & Development. Please provide your department budget code and have your budget approving authority sign your completed registration form. Training & Development will process the funds transfer.
