In a Time of "Do More with Less," eLearning Helps

The challenge of work today is "Do more with existing people and resources." This has resulted in skill gaps, as employees are being asked to do more than their experience and prior training may have prepared them for. Again and again, employees are expected to have cross-functional expertise in areas outside of their core competency. In essence, cross-functional learning has become a necessity for most employees.

Training addresses this need but can be incremental and event-based; eLearning connects knowledge with performance. On its own or in complement to other training, eLearning offers a true, vast, and ongoing knowledge repository which allows employees to access content as a course, for on-the-job reference, for quick refresh, for performance-level mastery, or even for a credential.

Your Own Place - Your Own Pace

Instructor-led courses continue to be offered through Training and Development. However, technology-based delivery is increasingly recognized as an extremely effective way to reduce costs associated with sending employees to remote or central facilities for training. Technology-based delivery allows employees to take courses on their own time and at their own pace. In fact, combining technology-based training with an instructor-led class (Blended Learning) enhances the learning experience and reduces the time necessary for conducting the instructor-led sessions.
