Position
This is a full-time, permanent position, including a full benefits package, in Facilities Maintenance, Technical Maintenance Shop. Perform engineering assignments in support of required installation and operation of mechanical heating ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and related electrical systems and components throughout the University systems. Required Qualifications:
An applicant that does not meet the minimum qualifications will not be considered qualified.
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or four years of college level coursework in related engineering studies to this desk description
Two years experience installing and/or maintaining HVAC systems or closely related field, including journey level experience with commercial HVAC Digital Control systems
Seven years of increasingly responsible and complex HVAC engineering work may be substituted for the minimum education and experience qualifications
Washington State Driver License or the ability to obtain one prior to starting work
CFC Refrigerant Handling Certification
06A Electrical License
Effectively understand written information and instructions, including blueprints
Demonstrated understanding of building HVAC systems, chillers, boilers
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a friendly and cooperative manner with students, staff, and faculty at all levels of the organization and in contacts with the public
Knowledge of ASHRAE and IAQ standards for ventilation and mechanical systems
Demonstrated experience or ability to work in commercial and institutional settings
Manage time well and work under pressure situations with tight schedules and deadlines to complete projects
Demonstrated ability in producing high quality work with attention to detail
Technical accuracy and recordkeeping skills
Ability to work well with diverse populations
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive familiarity with Siemens Building Technology controls systems.
Proficiency with MS Word, Access, Excel, Windows XP and SBT Apogee or equivalent.
Knowledge of Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA), Occupational Safety and Health Agency (OSHA) rules and regulations and standard job safety rules. IMC, IBC, IPC, NFPA and NEC.
Strong communication skills, including written and visual graphics (i.e. drawing, charts).
Knowledge of CFC regulations.
