Position
This is a full time permanent position including a full benefits package. The Facilities Engineer 2, Signaling will work independently and with Control Technicians, other Facility Engineer 2 positions, Fire Protection Engineers, and other trades to design, install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, service, and maintain Fire Alarm, Security, and other systems as required, including related engineering tasks. Required Qualifications:
An applicant that does not meet the minimum qualifications will not be considered qualified.
A BA in engineering and two years of installation and/or maintenance experience of fire protection, security,
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a friendly and cooperative manner with students, staff, and faculty at all levels of the organization, and in contacts with the public access control or closely related field
Four years of experience in fire protection engineering, or equivalent, may substitute, year for year, for educational minimum qualifications, except when there are legal requirements, such as licenses, certifications, and registration
Technical accuracy and record keeping skills
Effectively understand written information and instructions, including blueprints
Demonstrate experience or ability to work in commercial and institutional settings
Manage time well and work under pressure situations with tight schedules and deadlines to complete projects.
06A Electrical License
Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work with attention to detail
Valid Washington State Driver License or the ability to obtain one prior to starting work
Ability to work well with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Factory training in Edwards Synergy or equivalent training
NICET certification
Proficiency with MS Word, Access, and Excel, Outlook, CAD or equivalent programs
Strong communication skills, including written and visual graphics (e.g. drawings, charts)
