Program Manager A, Teacher Education Outreach
About the Position: This is a full-time,
12-month position. The Program Manager A has a wide scope
of complex duties and responsibilities including: program
management; budget oversight; public information; faculty,
classified staff and student services administration; personnel
administration; staff supervision and management analysis.
With delegated authority and in conjunction with the Director
and WCE personnel, facilitate operations of outreach programs.
Exercise independent judgment, and have delegated
decision-making authority.
This position is part of a Public School Employees of WWU
bargaining unit. New employees are required to meet the
membership requirements of the current collective bargaining
agreement within 30 calendar days of employment.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or program
- One year of professional experience in the field or
three years of responsible supervisory and/or administrative
experience in a related field
- Expertise with MS Word, MS Excel and database management
software
- Valid driver's license

Program Support Supervisor 2, University Residences
About the Position: Supervise program support staff
involved in the performance of duties associated with Residence
Life. With delegated authority, interview and recommend
selection of applicants, train new employees, assign and
schedule work, act upon leave requests, conduct annual
performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary action.
Under general direction, perform work using knowledge and
experience specific to the Residence Life program. Assist in
planning, implementing, and evaluating policies; devise and
implement new procedures; develop information to support
budgetary requests and project income and expenditures.
Position provides support for the 4 Residence Life
central office staff, 9 Resident Directors, 5 Assistant
Resident Directors, 75 Resident Advisors, over 60 student
employees (Desk Attendants, Administrative Assistants, and
Hall Leaders), with additional support to the Conference and
Guest Housing office as needed. This position requires
ongoing coordination and liaison with Residence Life staff
members and other Western Washington University departments
to manage projects, schedules, meetings and events using
knowledge and experience specific to the program. Exercise
independent judgment in interpreting and applying rules and
regulations. Independently advise students, staff, program
participants and/or the public regarding program content,
policies, procedures and activities; select/recommend
alternative courses of action. Have extensive involvement
with students, staff, the public and/or agencies in carrying
out program activities.
This position is a full-time permanent 12-month position
that reports to the Associate Director of Residence Life.

- High school diploma.
- Three years experience in related field or equivalent
education and experience.
- Proficient in computers and applicable software; including

- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information as
appropriate.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize deadlines, and
juggle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative in completing
work, solving problems, and carrying out job requirements and
duties.
- Comfortable working in a highly interactive and dynamic
work environment.
- Possess cross cultural communication skills: demonstrated
effective communication skills with the ability to work
effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions
and compose business correspondence.
