Bargaining Unit Agreements All new classified staff must comply with the
appropriate
bargaining unit agreement including
participation and union dues requirements when applicable.
Background ChecksWestern's
Conducting Background Checks Policy requires a
thorough review of all new hires including a criminal
background review, reference, credential, education and
employment history verification. Criminal conviction
records are reviewed as they related to the content and
nature of the work. A criminal background check is
required when there is a 3 month break in service with
Western for professional and classified staff and a break of
4 consecutive quarters for faculty. Continued
employment is contingent upon a completed background check
satisfactory to the University.
Employment EligibilityTo be eligible for employment, all new hires must be
able to:
♦ Comply with the
University's Verifying Employment
Eligibility Policy,
♦ Show employment eligibility verification as required b
the U.S. Citizenship and
Immigration Services (USCIS)
within 3 days of hire, and
♦ Submit a completed W-4 form including a valid U.S.
social security number.
Measles ImmunizationAll new employees must comply with the
University's
Measles Policy which requires completion of the
Measles
Immunization Report form.
Performing Essential Job DutiesAll employees must be able to perform the essential
functions of their position with or without accommodations.
