Computer Lab
Available for Use

 

The lab has nineteen (19) Dell Pentium 4, 2.8 GHZ workstations with 17" flat panel monitors connected to the WWU Novell network.  One workstation is designated as an instructor station and is connected to an Epson PowerLite 7250 (1500 lumens) data projector to project the information on the instructor monitor onto a 6 foot projection screen. The room has a large whiteboard at the front of the room. A laser printer is available in the room.

Software installed on the lab systems includes: Microsoft Windows XP Professional; Microsoft Office XP (Access, Excel, FrontPage, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Photo Editor); Microsoft Visio 2002, Publisher 2002, Project 2000; Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 (Visual Basic, Visual C++, FoxPro and InterDev); Microsoft Internet Explorer; Netscape; WinZip; Adobe Acrobat Reader; Windows Media Player; and Novell Application Launcher for BI/Query, HyperSnap and more.  Lab is also used for Banner training.

Other software needs are addressed on a case-by-case basis.

Advanced reservations are required.  Contact Training and Development 650-4998, or email HR.Training@wwu.edu to make reservations.  You can view the room calendar using Outlook, open res.rm.AE341 - calendar in your Outlook.

Use of the computer lab requires a lab orientation prior to the event. The lab use policies and procedures orientation includes safety and evacuation procedures, computer and projector usage, logon procedures, lighting and lab cleanup instructions. Contact Vic Kiel, 650-7418 for technical questions, concerns or to schedule a lab orientation.

The room is available for WWU faculty and staff use.  No room fee is charged except when the room is used for events that are revenue generating.  Room fees are $90 per day (more than 4 hours) or $45 per half-day (4 hours or less).
