Position Title: Assistant Professor Cognitive Neuroscience
About the position: Full time, tenure-track position with full benefits and begins 9/16/07.
Salary: Salary is competitive and dependent upon qualifications.

Position Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to develop an undergraduate course in cognitive neuroscience and to teach a range of undergraduate courses that may include Behavioral Neuroscience, Cognition, Seminar in Cognition, Sensation and Perception, Introduction to Psychology, or Research Methods and Statistics. The candidate should also be prepared to teach courses in a Masters-level graduate program in Experimental Psychology.
Required Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Psychology, Neurosciences, or a related discipline, completed by 9/1/07.
Evidence of successful teaching.
An active research program in Cognitive Neuroscience.
Demonstrated ability to involve students in research.
A publication record commensurate with experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with diverse students and faculty
About The Department and University:
The department has 27 permanent full-time faculty teaching in undergraduate programs (Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience), and three graduate programs (M.S. programs in Experimental Psychology and Mental Health Counseling Psychology and a M.Ed. program in School Counseling). (http://www.wwu.edu/~psych). The department is scheduled to occupy a new facility in 2008 that will include state-of-the-art human and animal research and teaching laboratories.
Western Washington University is located in Bellingham, Washington, a city of approximately 70,000 that is located in a scenic coastal area approximately half way between Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, British Columbia.
