About the Position:
In anticipation of possible limited term faculty openings throughout the 2006 – 2007 academic year and summer sessions, applications are accepted continuously for temporary non-tenure track teaching positions on a part-time basis with occasional opportunities for temporary, full-time appointments. Positions may become available at any time and are typically filled on a quarterly basis.
The Department of Environmental Sciences draws on basic knowledge of the physical, chemical, biological and quantitative aspects of natural systems. The knowledge of how natural systems work is applied to solving problems largely created by human activities. Fields include environmental toxicology, environmental chemistry, terrestrial ecology, environmental impact assessment, watershed studies, air pollution control, solid and hazardous waste management, and marine pollution assessments. The department consists of 11 full-time faculty and approximately 115 majors and an Environmental Science Graduate Program.
Position Responsibilities:
Teach one or more courses in the Department of Environmental Sciences. Prepare exams and teaching materials and be available to students during posted office hours.
