About the Position:
The Department of Mathematics maintains a vacancy pool of qualified persons interested in temporary teaching positions. In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year and summer sessions, applications are accepted continuously for temporary non-tenure track teaching positions on a part-time basis with occasional opportunities for temporary, full-time appointments. Positions may become available at any time, possibly at very short notice, and may be filled on a quarterly basis.
Position Responsibilities:
Teach the equivalent of up to three courses per quarter (up to 15 classroom hours per week) largely at the college algebra, precalculus and business math levels.
Required Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in mathematics or related area by date of appointment, and evidence of effective teaching at the lower undergraduate level in math.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with diverse students and staff.
About the Department
The Department of Mathematics has about 30 full-time faculty with interests across applied and pure mathematics and math education. Besides our primary focus on undergraduate instruction we offer a Masters program with about 20 students
