Position/Salary
The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a tenure-track position, beginning September 2007. Rank: Assistant Professor. Salary and Benefits: Competitive.
Duties
The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of courses (3 courses per quarter) that are standard components of undergraduate programs offered by analytically oriented departments. Further responsibilities include participation in the weekly faculty seminar on recent philosophical literature, and the usual advising and administrative committee assignments.
Qualifications
Required – Area of Specialization: Any core area of analytic philosophy. Area of Competence: Open. Ph.D. at time of application not required, but successful candidate must show evidence that he or she will receive Ph.D. by Sept. 2007. Preferred – Candidates with a promising research program and demonstrable excellence in teaching will be strongly preferred. We also have some preference for candidates with research/teaching interests in Ethics or Social and Political Philosophy.
