Extended Education & Summer Programs locations include Bellingham, Bremerton, Everett, Oak Harbor, Port Angeles, Mountlake Terrace and North Seattle.

 

About the Position: 

Extended Education & Summer Programs maintains a vacancy pool of qualified persons interested in temporary, non-tenure track teaching positions.  The positions are usually part-time, with occasional opportunities for full-time appointments.  Positions may become available at any time and are typically filled on a quarterly course-by-course basis.

 

As part of the applicant pool, individuals are considered when part-time and or temporary positions become available with matching areas of education, scholarship and experience/expertise.  Transcripts (unofficial is acceptable) reflecting highest degree earned are required before an offer to teach will be made.  It is highly recommended that transcripts be included as part of the vacancy pool application.

 

**Off campus degree program and/or course offerings for Woodring College of Education and/or Huxley College of the Environment may be available at sites located in Bremerton, Everett, Oak Harbor, Port Angeles, Mountlake Terrace and North Seattle.

About Extended Education and Summer Programs:

EESP is the University’s unit for self-sustaining and extended programs, with three academic units including Professional Studies and Independent Learning, Degree Programs, and Summer Programs.  Current offerings serve approximately 1800 students.  There are about 300 temporary and part-time faculty supporting these programs, not including summer quarter.

 

Academic Emphases:

Extended Education & Summer Programs’ faculty must meet minimum degree/experience requirements defined by the applicable academic discipline. 

 

Opportunities within Extended Education & Summer Programs include: Professional development, Project Management, online offerings, including Emergency Management Certificate; independent learning; summer programs, conferences and workshops; youth and lifelong learning programs; all areas must all have education and experience required for the specific offering.

 

Required Qualifications: 

Professional Studies, Independent Learning, and Summer Programs require a master’s degree

 

Refer to the specific academic department vacancy pool announcements for minimum requirements for degree programs.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Terminal degree in applicable discipline or subject area

 

Teaching experience

 

Working with diverse populations

 

Service in the related academic area or profession
