New Program and Service Initiatives

Title Description
Key Performance Indicators
Provide a snapshot of HR and organizational performance indicators to help Western efficiently utilize resources, provide services with high performance standards and provide useful information to assist managerial decisions.
 
Wellness Center Provide an ongoing wellness program that provides health education, establishes and promotes policies that promote healthy behavior, and activities or environmental changes that affect the health of employees.
Employee Performance Appraisal System (EPAS)
Provide a more consistent and efficient means of evaluating the performance of Professional Staff through an electronic evaluation tool that is user friendly, flexible, and produces useful outcomes.
 
Self Serve Direct Deposit
Establish the ability for an employee to electronically add up to two banks for deposit of net pay.
 

Student Work-Study Electronic Approvals (EPAF)
Implement a web based user interface for student EPAF through Web4U for easy use.
Community Service Survey
Survey the University community to collect information on faculty and employee's community service efforts in order to recognize and gather ideas for supporting those interested in volunteering in the future.

Improvement to Current Programs/Services

Title Description
Recognition Program
Efforts are being made to expand the current recognition program to expand the formal ceremony and to establish an informal program to make it more meaningful to our well-deserving faculty and staff.

New Employee Orientation

Convert the current live presentation format into an electronic/video format that is engaging, informative, and accessible.

Associated Students
On-Line Employment Application
Create an employment application in Western's current online application system to facilitate the screening and selection process for the Associated Student Association.
Policy
The following current policy areas are currently or will be reviewed for revision:
  • Nepotism
  • Family/Medical leave
  • Measles Immunization
  • Honorarium
Electronic W-2 Form Employees are now able to access their W-2 form anytime online through Web4U rather than receive it hardcopy.
