The main Spatial Analysis Lab (AH-16), the Planning Studio (ES-318) and the auxiliary SAL labs (AH-14 and AH-24) include a suite of spatial software packages. Most of this software is also available on the podium computers in AH-14 and AH-30. All computers have ArcGIS 9.2 along with the core ArcGIS extensions (see also customizations to GIS software below). In addition, some computers have remote sensing, GPS and/or statistical software installed. Below is a list of software and customizations installed in the various labs.

~ ~ ~ Additional ArcGIS / ArcINFO User Interface Customizations ~ ~ ~
In addition to the core software and extensions installed (listed above), a few modifications have been made to the standard 'out-of-the-box' installation.
ArcGIS Customizations
◊ Added 'Stand Alone' license for ArcEditor (so ArcGIS can be run without a
network connection to the license manager):
to switch between ArcInfo and
ArcEditor license levels use the batch files from the:
Start \ Programs \ ArcGIS \ Select License Level \ menu
◊ Folder Connections* (Drive Mapping) for:
C:\GISdata
(Spatial data stored on the local computer)
C:\Temp
(Local workspace with student access)
J:\GEO\GEO_data (Huxley's server for spatial
data)
J:\Saldata
(Huxley's server for class folders)
U:\
(your personal "U" drive)
◊ ArcCatalog: Added file type .e00 (ArcINFO coverage or GRID exchange files)
◊ ArcMap: New data layers set to not be visible by default
when added
◊ ArcMap: Added Pause Drawing button to main toolbar
◊ ArcMap: Added Buffer Wizard option to Tools menu
◊ ArcToolbox: Added WWU_Tools (custom toolbox of commonly used tools)
*NOTE: you will need to manually establish a connection in ArcCatalog or ArcMap to access CD, DVD, USB or External drives. See Mapping & Connecting to Drives
