9:45-10:00 a.m.:  Break. 

 

Have some cookies & coffee.  Network and catch up with colleagues from across the region.

 

 

10:00-10:40 a.m.: Tulalip Tribes GIS

 

There is a lot going on at the Tulalip Tribes Reservation, situated just west of Marysville, including development of a GIS resource center. Eiko Toguchi and Adam Urbaniak will discuss tribe-wide projects within the Tulalip Technology Leap program. Todd Zackey will present his work on shoreline mapping and habitat assessment within the Tulalip Natural Resources division.

 

 

10:45-11:15 a.m.: City of Everett, Utilities

 

The City of Everett provides direct and wholesale water service to nearly   500,000 residents in Snohomish County. Brent Linder, GIS Program Manager, will discuss the Utilities Division's recent migration to ArcSDE and the geodatabase data model. The presentation will focus on conversion preparation techniques, implementation challenges, and the impacts of transitioning from a tile-based GIS to a citywide dataset with daily maintenance.

 

 

11:15 - 11:45 a.m.: Snohomish County

 

The Department of Information Services is collaborating with several County departments to provide interactive mapping services on the Internet. Ed Fairbanks and Rob Simmonds will demonstrate existing applications, and will outline the process of developing the County's next project: a Critical Areas Map viewer for online environmental assessment. Feedback from the group regarding map display and site functionality will be welcomed!

 

 

11:45 a.m. - Noon:  Wrap-up

From the north:

      Travel south on Interstate 5 to downtown Everett

      Exit at Everett Ave. (Exit 194)

      Turn right (west) on to Everett Ave.

      Proceed west two blocks to Maple St.

      Turn left at Maple St.

      Proceed 3 blocks on Maple to Pacific Ave.

      Turn right at Pacific Ave., and

      Proceed 4 blocks to Smith Ave., at the top of the hill.

      Turn left at Smith Ave. into the Everett Station plaza.

      Parking is free in the outdoor lot on the right.

     

     

From the south:

      Travel north on Interstate 5 to downtown Everett

      Exit Pacific Ave. - City Center (Exit 193)

      Turn left (west) off the freeway on to Pacific Ave.

      Proceed 4 blocks to Smith Ave., at the top of the hill.

      Turn left at Smith Ave. into the Everett Station plaza.

      Parking is free in the outdoor lot on the right.
