                  Introduction to the Skagit System Cooperative

 

  10:15 – 10:45   Devin Smith, Restoration Ecologist, Skagit System Cooperative

                  Using a routed hydro layer to analyze riparian forest conditions.

 

         A routed hydrography coverage was used to store information from field-based inventories of

         riparian forests adjacent to salmon streams. This information can be used to quantify riparian

         conditions, identify habitat restoration projects, and monitor conditions as they change over

         time.

 

  10:45 – 11:15    W. Gregory Hood, PhD--Restoration Ecologist, SSC

                   Analysis of Direct and Indirect Impacts of Dikes on Estuarine Habitat.

 

         GIS was used to analyze historic photos and compare the change in estuarine marsh and tidal

         channel area from 1956 to 2000 in the Wiley Slough area (South Fork Delta of the Skagit River).

                 Comparing Puget Sound Lidar Consortium (PSLC) data with photogrammetric mapping
