Western Kids Camp and Global Connections with Science

July 1-August 9, 2013



Calling all students in grades K-6! Discover the fun of being on a college campus! Participate in week-long engaging and fun summer enrichment programs designed to:

  • Build new skills
  • Enjoy hands-on enrichment and recreation activities
  • Showcase and use “real college” classrooms and labs
  • Provide opportunities to make new friends–with local and international students

Start the morning with enrichment activities that encourage exploration and discovery utilizing University classrooms, labs and equipment. The afternoon will be filled with recreation activities in the award winning Wade King Student Recreation Center (WKSRC) and athletic fields including – swimming, rock climbing, archery, crafts, Wednesday lunch concerts, and much more. The blend of academics and recreation provide an engaging and fun learning environment unique to a college campus.

Parents - Students are divided into classrooms to ensure an adult to student ratio of 1-10. FREE 20 minute, convenient unload and load parking permit for easy drop-off and pick-up provided.

Weeks 1, 2 and 3 are open to youth in grades K-6. Morning enrichment will focus on literacy.

Weeks 4, 5 and 6 are open to youth in grades 4-6. Morning enrichment will focus on science and provide an opportunity for local and international Korean youth to build connections. Lunch in Western’s all-you-can eat cafeteria (except Wednesday) and a field trip on Wednesdays are included at no additional cost. Korean students are sponsored by JLS Academy.

Week 5 July 29-August 2 Designing & Building the Future
