Looking to sharpen your theatre skills?
All elements of theatrical production – from script development to the final show – are explored within WWU’s Performing Arts Center . Develop characters and scenes, speak and move effectively on stage, work in an ensemble, search the costume and scene shops, and rehearse for a grand finale performance on the stage of Old Main Theatre. Visit with WWU’s Summer Stock Productions cast and crew for inspiration and support.

Spend two dynamic weeks (three for Secondary grades) playing improvisational theatre games to workshop intensives in a variety of areas:
  • Vocal and body warm-up techniques
  • Monologue and scene writing
  • Stage movement, blocking and directing
  • Technical theatre skill building
  • Auditioning skill building
  • Choreography
Each institute will culminate in an original show produced on stage at WWU with full technical support! All classes will be supervised by WWU Theatre Faculty Dr. Deborah Currier, Chair of the Theatre Arts Department and Drama in Education Program Director and held at WWU's Performing Arts Center. Workshops will be taught by upper division Theatre and/or Education Majors who will provide in-depth mentoring and coaching.
