As much as we enjoy hosting Grandparents “U” each year, we love receiving notes from participants sharing how Grandparents “U” helped create memories of a lifetime.
Here are a few of our favorites:
My granddaughter came away very excited and wants to return next year. It was great for instilling the college experience.
My grandson and I had the time of our lives. We will be participating again next summer!
Our expectations were totally met. The instructor did a great job and had the patience necessary to work with energetic young kids.
The instructors and the resources provided by the university are incredible. These classes always stimulate a desire in me and my granddaughter to learn more, and also cause us to look at our world in a different way - to see things we had not noticed before, or make connections we had not been aware were there.
Our expectations were exceeded -- we enjoyed the class and our professor clearly
loved teaching this subject. The instructors’ enthusiasm was contagious and he
was flexible in his teaching style to accommodate and encourage divergent
learning styles -- good job!
My granddaughter and I have always had a special relationship. The time spent together - discussing what we were learning and exploring the campus - only deepened that bond. It was a wonderful opportunity.
What I liked best about Grandparents “U”…
Learning along with my granddaughter. The activities in our class were fun and
interesting for both of us.
The enthusiasm of the professional staff, the games and activities, the whole
camaraderie. It was exhilarating and such a memory maker!
Spending time with my grandchild; time on such a beautiful campus.
The time in the classroom. It was a stimulating, hugely educational, sometimes
quite exciting (soda pop explosions!) experience for both the young people and
we older folks. I don't know how the instructor pulled it off, but she certainly
did. I think half the class walked out wishing they could be volcanologists too!
It gave my grandson a taste of what attending college would be like.
