Are you familiar with basic HTML and CSS, but want to take things to the next level? Learning to effectively use cascading style sheets is a must. This course covers:

  • How to avoid common coding problems
  • The building blocks of a good CSS-based layout
  • CSS tips and tricks for better looking websites
Co-Instructors:
Josh Parrish is Web developer and online communications guru for the WWU Office of Admissions. A freelance Web designer since 1996 and founder of Web Designers Unite!, he enjoys working with others to make the web a better place.

Nathan Carnes is head honcho at Carnes Media, a small but feisty Web agency in Bellingham, Washington. With more than a decade of experience in hand-crafted HTML, CSS and JavaScript, he finds joy in beautiful code and clean design.

Almost every web designer answers the siren's call of freelancing at some point in their career; learn the ropes of freelancing from two grizzled veterans. Workshop includes:

  • Crash course on business basics including formation and finances
  • Finding and getting paid for work
  • Managing client relationships
