When should I register?
The application deadline for preferred consideration is September 10, 2009.  After September 10, 2009, interested students will need to call (360) 650-3717 or e-mail profdev@wwu.edu to determine if space is still available.

What is the cost of the Video Production Certificate program?
Cost: $4800 for the academic year (subject to change.) Cost will vary by student as some classes are electives. Optional credit is an additional $600 total for all classes. Tuition and fees are paid on a quarterly basis. All video students pay $150 per quarter equipment/technical fee whether or not individuals choose to utilize program resources. Schedule of fees for 09-10 will not be finalized until end of June 2009.

Credit Option: 12 credits are available as an option at $50 per credit

Will financial aid be available in the video productions certificate program?
Although federally guaranteed student loans are not available for part-time continuing education, there are a number of private continuing education loans available for part-time students. To learn more about continuing education loans, go to a Web site, such as,  Education Loans, or you can use a search engine with the words "continuing education loans" for information about non-profit and credit-based loans available to part-time students.

Do I have to take all the classes or may I take just a few?

This certificate program has been designed to ensure that students are fully prepared in video production through comprehensive training and completion of a video portfolio. Students who enroll in the full certificate program are given priority registration for the courses and workshops. When space is available, non-certificate program students may enroll in a single course or workshop with instructor permission. Students interested in a single course or workshop will need to call (360) 650-3717 or e-mail profdev@wwu.edu for additional information.

What courses do I have to complete to receive the certificate?
The certificate program consists of a series of program topics offered October 2009 through August 2010. Participants complete 90 hours of instruction and a video production portfolio to receive a Video Production Certificate.
