Join Western faculty and students on this remarkable journey to India. Western Washington University in association with the Institute for Village Studies offers students an in-depth, cross-cultural educational program in the Himalaya communities of Ladakh.
- Spend six weeks in a remote region of the Western Himalayas
- Study Tibetan culture, religion and history
- Learn about local issues of sustainable development, water scarcity, education and self-determination
- Work with Save Zanskar and other grassroots organizations on community development projects
- Trek in the dramatic Western Tibetan Plateau
- Visit Dharmsala, home of the Dalai Lama
