Study Tropical Marine Biology in Mexico
June 26-July 31, 2010
Discover the rich and diverse marine habitats of the Gulf of California as you study tropical marine biology and ecology in Mexico for five weeks.
The course will be taught at the
UABCS marine research station in the city of La Paz.
As fledgling scientists you will:
- Learn fundamental concepts in tropical marine biology through innovative teaching techniques
- Study at the Universidad Autonoma de Baja California Sur (UABCS)
- Access many diverse and rich marine habitats as you conduct research
- Interact and collaborate with UABCS students doing field research and lab project
- Engage in extensive independent work mentored and guided by WWU and UABCS faculty
- Learn about Mexican culture
This one-credit course will prepare you for the summer field program in Mexico.
Your summer program includes two 5-credit courses:
BIOL 437A: Organismal Tropical Biology and
BIOL 437B: Marine Tropical Ecology.
