Weekend MBA @ Everett
Admissions Information

The Western Washington University MBA Program invites applications from students with diverse educational backgrounds, and the program is open to students from all undergraduate majors who graduated from an institution accredited by regional Associations of Schools and Colleges (your school must have been accredited at the time your degree was granted for you to be eligible for the program).

While no previous business-related coursework is required, success in MBA studies does require logical and analytical reasoning as well as the ability to synthesize information and form general conclusions.

You can be confident that the Western MBA Program is one of the highest value MBA Programs in the Pacific Northwest and one of the best MBA Programs in Washington State. The educational foundation the Western MBA Program provides is high quality, rigorously designed, professionally delivered and student focused.

Western Washington University is committed to assuring that all programs and activities are readily accessible to all eligible persons without regard to their race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, marital status, or sexual orientation.

Western MBA Application Process

We accept applications on a space available basis and time is short so act now.

Download Application Checklist

  1. Fill out and submit the Application Form.

  2. Submit a current professional resume and Statement of Purpose that addresses the following required statements:
    • A statement of background
    • An assessment of the skills and knowledge you currently have
    • A description of the skills and knowledge you hope to acquire
    • A statement of your long-term career goals

The resume and statement of purpose explain a candidate’s rationale for pursuing the MBA and provides additional information to the admissions committee than what is found on the completed MBA application.

  3. Take the GMAT Exam and submit scores to Western Washington University Graduate School. The Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) is a standardized test given by the Graduate Management Admission Council and is used to assess skill levels in areas that have been found to contribute to success in graduate programs. The GMAT is not a test of specific business knowledge but is a general test, much like the SAT, that tests basic quantitative, reasoning, verbal and analytical writing skills.

The admissions committee does not use predetermined cutoff points for GMAT scores – recently, successful applicants have achieved an average score of about 540 - 580. The GMAT can be scheduled online by visiting www.mba.com and navigating to the "Taking the GMAT" page.

  4. Submit two (2) official transcripts from each of your post-secondary institutions you have attended to the Western Washington University Graduate School at:
    WWU Graduate School
516 High Street, Old Main 530
    Bellingham, WA 98225-9037

Official transcripts should have been printed within the last two years and must arrive at the Graduate School in sealed envelopes prepared by the university or college.
Exceptions:

Western Washington University Students: If you have a degree from Western you do not need to provide your Western transcripts or any other transcripts you have previously submitted to Western. We can pull them for you.

International Applicants: If you earned your undergraduate degree in a country other than the US or Canada, an official degree equivalency evaluation from an accredited credential evaluation service must be submitted for admission consideration. You can learn more about International Applications on the International Student information site.

A minimum 3.0 GPA is required for the last 90 quarter hours or 60 semester hours of undergraduate study. Occasionally, the MBA admissions committee recommends an exception to this requirement when other evidence suggests the likelihood of success in the program.

Important Dates

Applications are being accepted for January 2010. Fully submit your application with all application materials by October 16, 2009 and your application will receive priority consideration if you meet the minimum admission requirements.

Application Fee: $100

Program begins: January 8, 2010
