The Mathematics Education Collaborative (MEC), under the leadership of Ruth Parker and Patty Lofgren, recognizes the critical need to improve mathematics education for every learner.

MEC works in partnership with schools and communities, providing powerful mathematics workshops for

• teachers
• administrators
• business
• community leaders
• higher education faculty and others

MEC’s leadership development component builds capacity to implement and sustain continuous mathematics improvement.

Program details:

• Each of the three workshops offered in Bellingham during Summer Quarter 2010 last nine (9) days in two consecutive weeks.
  Probability and Data Analysis  (June 22-July 2)
  Numerical Reasoning (June 22-July 2)
  Patterns: Foundations for Algebraic Reasoning (August 3-13)
• The registration fee of $750 covers registration and all course materials.
• Earn four (4) university quarter credits are available for an additional $200.
• Choose to register for fifty-four (54) clock hours for an additional fee of $140.
