Instructor Profiles
Stefan Freelan is a GIS Specialist and Instructor at Huxley College of the Environment, Western Washington University. In addition to teaching GIS, Cartography and GPS he assists with academic research projects. He has a MS in Geography and a BA in Environmental Ethics. Prior to joining WWU he was a GIS Analyst with local Planning Departments and with a private consulting firm.
Tyson Waldo is a GIS Specialist and Biologist at the Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission (NWIFC). Starting as a GIS Specialist in 1999 he became the North Puget Sound Salmon and Steelhead Habitat Inventory and Assessment Program (SSHIAP) Biologist in 2001. Additionally, Tyson works as an adjunct instructor of GIS at Western Washington University. Recently, Tyson has been working on applying the ArcGIS ArcHydro geo-data model to fisheries and fish habitat management in western Washington.
