Frank Teck was born in Northfield, Minnesota on November 12, 1869. He attended Morehead College and then came to the west in 1890
eventually making his way to Whatcom County. He purchased, edited, and published the Blade (Whatcom) newspaper. However,
it was not until a series of articles he wrote for Sunset magazine were published
that he made a name for himself as a writer. Over his lifetime he also worked for the Seattle Post-intelligencer, Seattle Star, Seattle Times, Union Record, Bellingham American, Herald (Fairhaven), Daily Reveille (Whatcom), Bellingham Evening News, and Anacortes News.
Teck also wrote poetry, some of which was published in the
book Under Western Skies: poems in 1899.
He
died in May of 1933.
