Provenance
Knute Skinner donated materials to Western Washington University's Wilson Library, which later transferred to the Center for Pacific Northwest Studies in 1999.  Dr. Skinner made two subsequent donations of materials directly to the Center in 2003 and 2006. 

Processing Information
Preliminary organization was completed by Ruth Steele and David Boyd.  In 2006, Emiley Jensen processed the collection and prepared the online finding aid.

Many of Dr. Skinner's published works from 1956 onward are contained in the Knute Skinner Collection held by the Wilson Library in the Western Collection of Special Collections.
