Several campus departments are now planning their summer student
employee needs. Many of these departments will want to continue
employing current student staff members. Guidelines to extend the
employment period for the current student employees are listed
below.
Please note that the last day students may work under the work
study program is June 10 and work study time sheets must be
submitted by June 15. All departmentally funded positions have end
dates of June 30th. If you need to make any updates (rate increase,
terms, org code, etc.) to your student employees before these dates,
please first contact
Connie Swigart-Harris x7664 or
Julie Nicolaas x7718 so
they can remove the end date.
Departmentally Funded Positions
Please use the new Banner process NOAEPAF. For a current position
number, enter approval code STU120. For a new position number,
please use STU110. Enter the Query Date of July 1, 2005 and process
as usual.
If you are not yet familiar with the new Banner process NOAEPAF,
there are "Electronic Approval" classes twice a week. You can register yourself for these
training sessions at the WWU Training website (http://west.wwu.edu/training/).
Contact Michael Furtado
x3478 or
Julie Nicolaas x7718 if
you have questions about the "Electronic Approvals" training.
Grant Funded Positions
Submit a new E-sign On Campus Student Employment form to the
Bureau for Faculty Research listing the new end date. After BFR
approval, the employment form will be forwarded to the Center for
Student Work Experience and Human Resources for processing.
Work Study Positions
All Work Study positions require a new E-sign On Campus Student
Employment form. The earliest that work study students may begin
working during the 2005-2006 academic year is September 16. In
April, departments were sent the Departmental Work Study Request
form to request that current work study student employees return for
2005-2006. If your department did not receive the request form,
contact Mary Murray in
Student Employment (x3158).
