Catching Waves: Using Engagement to Address Critical Issues
The Tenth Annual Continuums of Service Conference

April 12-14, 2007
San Jose, California

PASS IT ON…MENTORING OPPORTUNITIES

For all of the meetings we attend and the publications we read, it is often the individual conversations that teach the most about service-learning and civic engagement. We invite you to contribute to these conversations by participating in the mentoring program at Continuums of Service.

If you are new to service-learning, new to the Continuums of Service Conference, or would like to learn more about a particular topic, sign up to receive a mentor. Or, if you have experience to share, sign up to be a mentor. Once you sign up, we will pair you with a colleague and help you connect with that person at the conference. The conversations, questions, and reflection that follow are up to you.

To apply for a mentor or mentee, please complete the following and email to Request to be a Mentor/Mentee.

  1. Name, Title, Institution/Organization, E-mail Address, Phone number
  2. Role and Years Experience Related to Community Service, Service-Learning, and/or Civic Engagement
  3. Reason for wanting to serve as a mentor, or be assigned a mentor.
  4. Preference for mentoring, or being mentored by faculty, administrative staff, student, community partner, or other.

You may also apply to serve as a mentor or receive a mentor when registering for the conference. To do so, please check the appropriate box on the registration form.

If you have questions about the mentor program, please contact Diane Bateman at diane.bateman@wwu.edu
