Landscapes of work and play came together in this photograph with chefs, musicians, and miners flanked by Kiwanis.  The scenery and position of the subjects in the picture, however, reflects more on the relationship between the entertained and the entertainers than on any questions of work and connection to place.  The workers, pausing momentarily from serving the Kiwanis for the photographer to pose them,  appear to fill the booster vision of a quiet, contented, local workforce, happy to "entertain" any visitors.   Photo 798 J.W.
